Stockghyll is an area of pretty woodland and tumbling waterfalls cascading from Red Screes above the Ambleside village and the lake below. The Falls are set in one and half acres of grounds and landscaping on the former site of the old Bobbin Mill. The original buildings have been converted to luxury cottages and apartments with the addition of new accommodation being built in the same slate and stone to blend sympathetically into the area. The Falls are a superb base for local, country and woodlands walks with Ambleside village a short stroll away and Langdale Pike within four miles. Offering a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, Ambleside still retains its unique village atmosphere in the heart of the Lake District.
